- Manufactured, non-combustible fire pit.
- Made of concrete, brick or sheet metal min. 18-guage thickness.
- Openings on the fire pit be 13mm (0.5”) or less.
- Covered with a heavy gauge screen with opening not exceeding 13mm (0.5”).
- Fire pit should be no larger than 1m (39.4”) in both directions.
- Fire pit should be no higher than 0.65m (25.6”) in height from the surrounding surface.
- Fire Pit must be located 3m (10’) from combustible materials, buildings and property lines.
- Ensure the overhead space is clear of obstructions such as utility lines and other objects.
- Only burn charcoal or cut, seasoned wood. Never burn rubbish, garden refuse, manure, animal carcasses or any material that will generate black smoke or offensive odours such as plastics, rubber material, asphalt materials, construction waste and creosoted wood.

- Provide enough light for people to walk around the yard safely.
- Check the wind direction before lighting a fire.
- Don’t use flammable fluids, such as gasoline or lighter fluid, to light or relight fires.
- Avoid wearing flammable clothing or loose-fitting clothing near the open fire.
- Keep children and pets 3 feet from the fire.
- Keep a fire extinguisher or garden hose nearby.
